Sugar-Free Chocolate Hazelnut Spread

Nutella is one of the words greatest wonders. It is such an indulgence for me that I just had to figure out how to make this stuff without feeling so bad about eating it. After a quick google search I was amazed to find that it’s actually so much easier to make than I thought.

With just 4 ingredients and about 30 minutes you can have your own.

First you will need some hazelnuts either raw or roasted. If raw you will need to do a quick roast in the oven at 350 degrees for 12-15 mins. If already roasted you just need to get them warm at 350 degrees for about 8 minutes just long enough to loosen the skins.

Once roasted you want to take the skins off as to reduce the gritty texture and have a smooth spread. To take the skins off I just take a small handful of hazelnuts and rub them together in my hands.

After most of the skin has been removed you then place the nuts into a food processor or blender and blend until you have a nut butter. About 5-10 mins should do the trick. If you start having a hard time getting a good consistency, add in some coconut oil and it will smooth out the texture. Once you’ve got your nut butter you will then just add in your coco powder and powered sugar. I used unsweetened coco powered and Swerve Powered Sugar Substitute. I added about 2 tablespoons of each, but depending on your taste and how sweet and chocolaty you like you can add more.

Once the spread is to the sweetness you desire; enjoy with some strawberries or even by itself!

I hope you enjoy this treat as much as I do!
