Day Six: New York At Christmas

Last year my Mom retired from teaching! She has had some bucket list trips she’s always wanted to go on so last November we had our first things crossed off our list.

Right after Thanksgiving we packed our bags and headed to the Empire State. We decided to go in later November, early December for a few reasons. Firstly it’s hopefully not too too cold, snow is cool and all but I knew we’d be doing a ton of walking and walking in snow through the city is not my idea of a good time. Second we got a really great deal on our flights, it’s a lull time for travel. Everyone is just getting back from Thanksgiving and haven’t quite started to travel for Christmas yet. Thirdly, we wanted to have the city set up for Christmas, which was a huge reason for going to New York in the first place.

Here was our huge list of things we wanted to see and do while in New York City. Most of them have been on mine or my moms bucket list for a very long time.

• See the Rockafeller Tree

• See the Rockettes Show

• See a Broadway show

• Eat a true street cart hot dog

• Eat New York Pizza

• Visit Times Square

• Visit Central Park

• Take the Subway

• Look at the Christmas window displays on 5th Ave.

• Eat a New York Bagel

• Tiffany’s Store

I mean it’s a long list and I am proud to say that we did it all!

We spent a total of 5 days in the New York City. To see my full itinerary be in the look out for my next post: Five Days in New York City at Christmas
